my break from the copy-edits

kniedzw gave me my Valentine’s Day present early, on the grounds that it would be better for me to have it before I finish the last major work on With Fate Conspire:

Four thousand two hundred eighty-seven pieces in twenty-eight sacks. Three magazine-sized instruction booklets; god knows how many steps in total, especially since after you go through all eighty-one stages (not counting sub-stages) to build one tower, you do it all over again for the second one.

This is gonna take a while.

I may photoblog the process. (And, as kniedzw suggested, try to stage that ending scene from Sherlock Holmes on the unfinished structure.)

That is truly awesome. I look forward to the photo-blogging.

(My ex-roommate had the Eiffel Tower. It was over 3 feet tall. You could’ve impaled someone on that thing.)

built the Taj Mahal at work. I have no idea where he put the finished product; it must be huge.

(This one will live atop a bookcase in my office. Thank god for high ceilings, sez I.)

…they have the Taj Mahal? That’s… wow.

Man. I’m not sure if the Lego Star Destroyer is still the kit I want* most any more.

*: This wanting is mostly theoretical. I would have no place to put the damn thing, since it’s, y’know, 3 feet long.

    A) Neat!

    B) I think I’ve isolated a core difference in our personalities. I look at that box and the first thing I think is: “I bet you could make a killer spaceship out of that.”

That looks a lot of fun!

That is love, is what that is.

I am intrigued by your ideas and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Or, lego-blog. And I will subscribe my nearly-seven-year-old as well. Obsessed with legos, we are. πŸ™‚

Bwahahaha! You totally have to do, and photoblog, the Sherlock Holmes scene. πŸ˜€

Oh, I want a Lego castle now, preferably modeled after a real one (a Norman whopper or one of those soaring mountain castles we have in Germany).

    • kniedzw

Well, they have several options:Hogwarts,a generic fort, though they call it a castle, anda dark ninja fortress. That said, these guys built Neuschwanstein.

      • aulus_poliutos

Neuschwanstein is one crazy castle. But it looks like they had fun with it. πŸ™‚

Hogwarts looks cool. Could make a birthday present for my niece who just discovered Harry Potter (the books).

    OMG, that is AWESOME. O_O

If you want help putting it together, ever… *g*

I dunno how long it will take. Or rather, how long it will last. I have a tendency to dive into these things and race to the end . . . .

Okay, I am a little jealous. I love this set.

Yay documentation! Photoblogs are absolutely the thing; what is the point of the internets else?
