[EDIT: At the advice of my commenters, I’m putting in a notice that this is a post about revision, not politics. I’ve apparently given a few people minor heart attacks already, before they got far enough in to figure out what I was talking about.]

I said it all the way back in July: “When in doubt, throw in an assassination attempt.”

Now, the attempt in question ended up being canceled, but I think putting one in elsewhere may in fact be the solution to one of my problems.

Send in a man with a gun. I don’t think I’ll have an actual gun, but the advice still holds. Funny how this whole “learning your craft” thing involves coming around to the basic lessons over and over and over again.

    Doh! I owe you a call back.

    I generally work 2-10, or 1-9, or 12-8pm; sometimes it’s more like 12-10:30pm, although i’m getting better at that. I’ve yet to work earlier than 12, and i’ve yet to work later than 10:30 (and i’ve been promised by the head honcho that i’ll never have to). I’m awake till midnight or 1, sometimes later (although i’ve been pumpkining really badly lately, right around midnight); i’m usually up by 9 or 10 in the am, although i can’t see you being awake to call me before noon, what with the time diff.

    I’ll try to call you on my walk home tonight. Check that; no signal in a building designed to contain radiation, which means my phone drains its battery when i leave it on at work, which i’ve done. So i’ll try to call tonight or tomorrow night at some point. Or you can always try to contact me.

      Sure. I’m usually available around 9 my time (either home, or on my way home from karate), which translates to something workable on your end.

    Ya know, when I first read this I thought you were talking about attempts against Obama. Whew do I feel better knowing your writing about your novel!!!!
