revision thoughts

I know it’s bad form to get too enamored of one’s own characters, but I think the great tragedy of this novel is that Jack isn’t in more of it.

I should let myself write smart-asses more often.

ETA: Also, more novels that merit revision notes like “don’t forget the severed heads.”

I feel the same way. And my smart ass dies in my novel. *sigh* I’m sorry, Tallith, I tried. :p

I think every novel needs at least one character who you secretly wish you could let take over. 🙂

Generally, smart-asses are the best characters. Not only do they get the best lines, but people tend to love them more because they’re smart-asses.

    Examples: Captain Jack Sparrow
    Severus Snape
    Buffy/Xander/Dr. Horrible/anyone in any Whedon-created universe, really.

There are severed heads? I’M THERE.

I like Jack, don’t get me wrong, but we both know who my favorite is. That character needs their own novel. Or series. Or multi-media movie/game/series/podcast/realityshow/breakfast cereal/happy meal/sports team/fanzine tie-in.

You’re going to be the pioneer of Cerenel fanfic, aren’t you?

Y’know, it hadn’t really occurred to me, but now that you’ve mentioned it, I’m thinking about writing one before the book comes out. I’ll post it on the release date, just so I can claim to have written the first Cerenel fic ever.

        That would be keen.
