This week’s essay for the New Worlds Patreon should really be titled “Ways to Make Yourself Smell Good,” because it’s also about scented lotions, oils, soaps, shampoos, bathwater, and everything else we use to counteract our natural tendency toward whiffiness. But “Perfume” was shorter and catchier, so I went with that instead.

Hi, do you know when book cafe will be up and running again? I’ve been checking every few days and the server is undergoing maintenance.
Unfortunately I don’t, because this is all being caused by HostGator taking our site down every time there’s a problem. We’re trying to transfer to a different (and better) hosting service, but it’s hard for our web guy to do that when HostGator yanks the site out from under him like this. I’ll definitely announce it far and wide once we’ve transferred to our new home, though!
