this icon is good for both celebration and frustration

OH MY GOD THIS STORY WON’T BLOODY DIE

(How much won’t it die? I wrote more than 4300 words on it today. Which were added to the rather sizeable amount I had already. And I am nowhere near done.)

(Novellas. Man. I am here to tell you, they suck.)

    Lordy, my sympathies.

It wants to make you suffer. I suggest you take its toys away.

I hear you! Love the icon though… almost worth the actual frustration behind it… almost… Can’t imagine writing a novella… although I AM getting better at hitting projected word counts… and keeping under them… most of the time… on occasion…

Is that Fizzgig from The Dark Crystal?

Yes! I have yet to figure out how to get something cool like that on my posts… so computer illiterate it isn’t funny…

No way, novellas are awesome. As are novelettes. And I’m not just saying that because I can’t seem to write anything shorter than 7500 words. (Okay, maybe I am.)

(This is my artistic frustration/celebration icon, to go with yours.)

I’m with you! I love novellas. There’s enough space to go with ideas too big for a short story, but they’re still small enough to finish (reading) in a day.

Ugh, sorry. My latest hit 8.5k last night, and it’s not done yet either.

(I would really like to stop writing novellettes. Preferably by the expedient of discovering that my stories *don’t need* to be novellettes, rather than just stopping halfway through.)

Heh, the planned novelette to connect books 1 and 2 in the Roman series totally went novel on me already in the planning stage, so the Roman series is now 4 books instead of 3.

    Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

and then, to add insult to injury, they’re hard to sell
