Introduction

Welcome to the Marie Brennan half of Swan Tower.

News! Site Updates

(6/9/08) Street date for Midnight Never Come!

(4/4/08) The first of my Driftwood stories has sold! "A Heretic by Degrees" will be appearing in the Intergalactic Medicine Show.

(3/10/08) If you'll be attending ICFA next week, there will be a small number of MNC ARCs in the book room, and I will be doing a reading from the novel. (Check the errata notice at the con, as I suspect this has been arranged too late for me to be listed in the regular program.

(3/7/08) As detailed here, there's been a change of plans: my next novel will be And Ashes Lie, an Onyx Court book set during the Great Fire of London. (The Victorian book will still be happening, just not right now.)

(2/11/08) I seem to be on a roll with the short stories lately. Mike Allen, editor of the upcoming anthology Clockwork Phoenix, has bought my Mesoamerican fantasy story "A Mask of Flesh."

(1/28/08) Today I learned that Paradox is buying "The Deaths of Christopher Marlowe".

(1/11/08) And, replenishing the supply of stories on their way to publication: "Beggar's Blessing" has sold to Shroud, the same folks putting out the Beneath the Surface anthology that will include "Kiss of Life".

(6/23/08) If you've read Midnight Never Come and would like to ask a question of me or comment on anything in the book, please visit the "Spoiler Zone" thread on Livejournal. (You don't need an LJ account to comment there.)

(6/3/08) I confess I'm too lazy to link to them all individually, but there are a bunch of new posts at the bottom of the lists of essays on both the Craft and Philosophy pages. These are my posts from the group blog at SF Novelists, which I'm also archiving here on my site. Also, I've posted a new MNC goodie: the contract between Elizabeth and Invidiana.

(4/30/08) The last of the MNC excerpt is up! Several scenes there, so keep clicking through. (Or you can start at the beginning.)

(4/28/08) A new addition to the Business essays: "A Glossary of Business Terms."

(4/23/08) For the Second International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day, I have posted my flash story "Silence, Before the Horn." Last year's contribution, "Calling into Silence," is still available.

(4/20/08) Now posted: the interview conducted by my journal readers, regarding (you guessed it) MNC.

(4/10/08) I promise that someday I'll have updates for this site other than MNC goodies, but not while I have this grading to get through. In the meantime, have more excerpt. (The beginning is here.)
